“MANsLAUGHTER” by Emily K. Perdomo is a brutal story based off the very real obstacles victims of sexual assault face when they choose to come forward with their stories. Too often they are ostracized and discouraged from speaking their truth and seeking justice. This play follows Elvira, a young Latinx female prisoner, who is finally given the chance to speak her truth, as she exposes the shortcomings of the systems, and it’s mistreatment of sexual assault survivors.
